A Global Relay for Water

This World Water Day on Saturday, March 22 2025, runners from around the world will unite for the #WorldWaterRelay - the largest global relay for water.

From sunrise in New Zealand to sunset in the United States, runners throughout the world will pass the ‘virtual baton', creating a powerful, 24-hour movement for water awareness. Join us in making history and keeping the spirit of the World Water Run alive.

Lead a Run

Gather your community and run for change. Sign up as a Run Leader and organise a #WorldWaterRelay run in your area.

Once registered, you’ll get everything you need to plan your run, capture the moment on video and celebrate your team's achievements!

How It Works

  • Get your team together and pick a route. You’ll need at least five runners, but the bigger your group, the greater the impact

  • Run anytime on March 22, 2025

  • Film a short clip of your team running and ‘passing the baton’ to the next location. Be sure to check out our "how to" video for tips on filming the perfect baton pass!

  • Share your run on social media using #WorldWaterRelay
